LUOGO: COMUNE

The artists in residence project Luogo:Comune took place from the 10th the 28th Mai in Casale Marittimo, a little typicall village in Toscany. During the three weeks in Casale, eight artists under the tutoring of Cesare Pietroiusti, realised site specific works, looking for a costant relation and interaction with the life of the village, its inhabitants and its the cultural and natural beauty.
The project was aimed not only at representing Casale and its contemporaneity, its histories, its people and their tales but also at offering to the public and to the inhabitants themselves an alternative image of the village. The name “Luogo: Comune” reflects the intention of the whole project: to get over the cliché and stereotype of the idyllic, small village on the hills of Toscany and to find out specific characteristics that make the place unique.
